Irvine, CA.....Micro Express introduces the first value-priced 1.1-GHz multimedia PC, the MicroFLEX 1.1G, based on the new AMD Athlon processor, with enhanced cache. The MicroFLEX 1.1G is available for only $1949, including 128-MB of SDRAM, a 12X DVD drive, a 30-GB Ultra DMA hard disk drive, a CD-RW drive, a high-density 3-1/2" floppy disk drive, built-in PCI audio, speakers, a high-quality 17" monitor, a 56K V.90 FAX/modem, a 10/100 BaseT Ethernet card, a Microsoft Natural keyboard and a mouse. In addition, a full complement of energy saving features and DMI support are standard. The MicroFLEX 1.1G is shipped in a mid-tower case, measuring 8"[W] x 16.75"[H] x 19"[D]. The case has provision for four accessible 5-1/4" drives, two accessible 3-1/2" drives and one internal 3-1/2" drive. The proprietary 100-MHz motherboard has seven expansion slots, including six PCI slots and one AGP slot.

RAM is expandable to 768 MB on the motherboard. Two high-speed UART-compatible serial ports are provided, as well as one enhanced parallel port (ECP and EPP). In addition, there are two USB ports and a PS/2 mouse port.
