ROCKAWAY, NJ May 24, 2001 MYOB AccountEdge, the first small business accounting application for Mac OS X, was awarded the Apple Design Award Runner-up position for the Best New Mac OS X Product at the Apple Worldwide Developer Conference 2001, San Jose, California.
The Apple Design Awards "recognize innovation, advanced Mac OS X look and feel, use of Apple technologies in Mac OS X-based products, and new, exciting, and high quality product entries to the Mac OS X market."
MYOB AccountEdge for Mac OS X qualifies for several reasons. Its outstanding creative design elements easily adapt to and gracefully complement the elegance of Aqua. The artful photo-illustrative icons of the main command center provide a beautiful, yet functional, chassis for a powerful accounting engine, while the colorful control buttons add to the fun of the user experience. More than just a pretty face, these elements enhance the workflow, making it more intuitive for a new user.
Keeping in the spirit of Mac OS X, AccountEdge offers handy access to critical information through better organization. A Sales Register, for example, stores all information on every type of sale and allows the user to complete associated tasks from the same screen. A number of other such features add greatly to productivity.
AccountEdge continues to master the Macintosh art of simplicity by providing its users familiar representations for business activities. For example, a check, invoice or purchase looks and works just like their paper counterparts and all information and forms are stored in file folders. Quotes, orders and invoices are different colors, as are their printed versions, but AccountEdge extends their paper limitations by instantly changing the form, and its color, on screen.
