NEW YORK, NY Jan 22, 2002 Y-Point, a provider of multidisciplinary business and technology services for the "Networked Economy", today announced the launch of the Cyber Business Credit suite of web services. The suite encompasses three web services, Bernard Sands trade credit recommendation and advisory service, Cyber trade groups and debtwatcher.com bad debt placement information services.
Since 1925, Cyber Business Credit, formerly Bernard Sands Credit Consultants has been providing customized credit solutions that fit the needs of a large and satisfied customer base. In late 2000, Cyber presented Y-Point with a unique challenge: to help migrate their business critical IT systems as well as paper-based business processes to the web environment. The goals of the migration were to leverage the considerable data accumulated through its long history and provide a richer feature set to its clients while building a platform to significantly increase the efficiency of the business processes.
Y-Point, using its Managed Competency Center (MCC) service offering, proposed and built a series of web applications for Cyber Business Credit (www.sandscredit.com, www.cyberbusinesscredit.com and www.debtwatcher.com). The new systems keep a wide array of industry groups up to date, by the minute, on the credit performance of potential new customers as well as their current customers. It gives its clients competitive advantage with cutting-edge technology that streamlines communications and processing, and expert analysis that crunches the numbers from Cybers' extensive database, containing millions of lines of credit decision support information, to forecast liquidity and credit worthiness. In providing this "soup-to-nuts" portal development service to Cyber, the Y-Point MCC supplied all technology development services, as well as data center selection, migration of data from mainframe systems, etc.
Y-Point selected BEA WebLogic(R), the world's leading eBusiness software platform from BEA Systems, as the infrastructure for the portal. This choice was made in order to provide the requisite levels of performance, scalability and stability required for supporting Sands' growth targets. Y-Point created a J2EE compliant architecture for the portal to support feature extensibility going forward.
"Y-Point has done an excellent job for Cyber Business Credit. The Y-Point team brought excellent technical know-how to the project, and displayed a commitment to go the extra mile to fulfill our very stringent needs," said Mark Jones, Chief Executive Officer at Cyber Business Credit. "I would have no hesitation in using them for future projects" he added.
"Y-Point is dedicated to our customers' success and total satisfaction. Y-Point used its technical expertise and resources worldwide to launch the Cyber portal in a cost-effective manner", said Daniel Stryker, VP Business Development and Sales at Y-Point Inc.
"The real challenge in redesigning the system was to understand the way the old system was working, understand the new requirements, and come up with a design which would make the transition transparent both for the clients as well as the administrators using the system. The Y-Point business analysis, design and development team did an excellent job by putting together innovative design approaches." said Sanjeev Deora, Director of Consulting at Y-Point Inc.
Y-Point, using its Business Services Center (BSC) arm, will be providing industry grade production support services, including all technical maintenance support for the live applications and components.
