They are built for tradesmen, by tradesman. The idea for IRBINE™ custom tool grips was born in 2005 in the summer heat of Loveland, Colorado. David Irby and his father, framers by trade, were tirelessly working on an extensive remodeling job. Normally remodeling a custom home would have been fun for the Irbys. However, the rising summer temperatures were making this job a challenge. Their demolition tools were soaking up the 100-degree heat and were virtually untouchable. Grabbing their nail guns, which were more than 10 years old, was unbearable. While good nail guns outlive their original grips, unfortunately the exposed, shiny metal absorbs the heat. Irby, never a fan of the sticky, messy tape that can be used to replace worn out tool grips, went looking for an alternative. Through simple necessity came the creation of IRBINE™ custom tool grips.<p>In order to protect his hands from the hot metal of his nail gun, Irby set out to invent a new, more versatile tool grip. He sewed together a rough prototype grip out of neoprene. Immediately, Irby knew he had something great. The simple grip instantly improved the look, touch and feel of his construction tools.<p>Since then, Irby has worked on perfecting the sizes and design of the tool grips. The result of his hard work are tool grips that fit as many tools as possible with as few sizes as possible. Although IRBINE™ grips are intended to outfit construction tools, the grips also improve the overall feel of basic household items, such as flashlights, brooms and mops. The grips are made from the best quality neoprene rubber, are sewn by the best and are sold at prices that customers can appreciate. |
